Types of Demons and Their Twisted Specialties :

From a demon who will enter your head and falsely make you change all your beliefs, to a demon that will possess your entire body and make you do nasty, really horrible things. In this article, we look at types of demons.
As this article is based on different types of demons individually, and what their specialist twistedness is, we are going to keep it brief on what a demon is. It is a subject that is so wide, it could easily make topics of other articles. There are many different lists, and even subcategories, of demons that vary over the centuries gone by. This is due to demons being involved in different types of religion, folklore, mythology, and literature.
A demon is basically a fallen angel. One of God’s top angels, Lucifer, started a rebellion after falling out with God. Other angels that joined Lucifer in a rebellion that failed were then banished from heaven forever. These now fallen angels then became demons, with the head demon being Lucifer, who then became known as Satan. Yes, he can also be known as a certain demon you may have heard of whose name is The Devil. Some may agree, some may not.
Each demon is a specialist in a certain field—sometimes multiple fields. They still rebel against God by possessing mankind in their twisted ways and causing as much mayhem and misery as they can. They usually attack when the victim is at their weakest.
There are hundreds of demons, so we cannot include all, but we have included some of the more twisted ones. So, let’s take a look at what demons can do to you.
Pazuzu: The Wind Controller and Possessor
We’ll start with a really evil demon that some of you will have heard of. His name is Pazuzu.
Pazuzu is a demonic god and is big in the demonic underworld. He is the controller of disastrous winds, droughts, and famine—even responsible for those massive locust invasions that cause people harm, ruin, and sometimes death.
Remember the movie The Exorcist, where that girl became possessed by a nasty demon? Well, that demon was Pazuzu, who was obviously taking a break from changing the weather for the worse. He originates from the ancient Mesopotamian religion. With his dog-like face, he stands with his left arm down and right arm up, connected to talons.
Then, there is a slightly better side to Pazuzu. There is a demonic goddess called Lamashtu—a twisted demon who preys on newborns and even the unborn. Pazuzu regularly protects the young from her twisted, demonic ways.
Succubus and Incubus: Lusty Lilin Demons
Our next lusty demons are Succubus and Incubus. Both are Lilin demons. A Lilin demon is a nasty spirit who preys on men and women sexually while they sleep. Firstly, you have Succubus—she is the female who attacks men in their sleep. The male demon is called Incubus, who attacks women while they sleep. Both are supernatural demons, and repeated encounters with them can cause mental deterioration or even death.
They are said to appear attractive but can also reveal their true forms—feet like birds’ claws or horrible, wrinkled fingers and nails fit only for a demon.
The actual demon whose specialty is lust is Asmodeus. He twists people’s sexual appetites, and after years of torment, he is said to be actually present on Earth.
ZoZo: The Ouija Board Nightmare :
Moving on, the next out of our demonic horror collection is Zozo. This is the demon you’ll be trying to contact when using a Ouija board. No one is quite sure what Zozo is, although there are reports of a mystic named Zozo who is said to have stolen his wife’s soul a century ago. This demon can also go under the same name as the demon Abacus, who is also a Ouija board presence. Zozo is known to bring on depression, bad luck, and suicidal thoughts. He is filled with extremely negative energy. Be wary of Zozo using names like ZaZa, OZ, and MaMa—especially if you feel uneasy and the planchette moves in a figure eight.
Agares: The Grand Duke of Earthquakes
Next up is Agares. This demon is a grand duke of hell. He appears as an old man riding a crocodile-like creature, with a hawk perched on his fist. Agares holds great authority in the demon world, as he controls 31 legions. Any deserters that flee, he forces them to return. He is also the master of earthquakes, teaches languages, and grants titles within his legions.
Asag The Fever-Bringer :
Our next demon is called Asag, a monstrous, horrific entity from Sumerian mythology. His presence is so disturbing that fish will automatically boil alive if he nears a river. If Asag comes into contact with you, he fills you with violent head fevers that result in slow, painful death. He is also known as the constructor of mountains.
Beelzebub: Lord of Gluttony
Now, this demon needs no introduction. He is among the most infamous of all demons: Beelzebub. His name means “Lord of the Flies.” He was part of the original rebellion of fallen angels, and ranks just below Lucifer. Beelzebub is the master of gluttony. If you always want more, even when you have enough, this greedy demon is to blame. Too much greed leads to ruin—and that’s exactly what he wants.
Lucifer’s Rebellion and Demonic Legacy :

The main demon who began the rebellion against Heaven is none other than Lucifer, once known as the Morning Star. He was second only to God before he fell. After losing the rebellion, he became a fallen angel, known now as Satan, the Devil, and the symbolic figure of evil in many different types of religion.
Lucifer once had a baby-like face, but after falling, he turned red and became the menace we know today. Some depictions of Lucifer—like the Lucifer statue, Lucifer supernatural series, and even Lucifer in the Bible—show varied traits, but they all reflect a powerful, corrupted being.
Leviathan, Behemoth, and Ziz: The Elemental Monsters :
Just below Lucifer in the infernal hierarchy is Leviathan, the massive sea demon associated with envy. Leviathan is capable of destroying life by devouring God’s creatures. There were three main demons who defected: Leviathan, Behemoth, and Ziz.
Leviathan rules the sea.
Behemoth dominates the land and resembles a mix between an elephant, rhinoceros, hippopotamus, and buffalo.
Ziz is the least known, an air creature with a wingspan that can block out the sun, often resembling a winged griffin.
Sonneillon: The Demon of Hate :
Next up is Sonneillon, the demon of hate. He thrives on human hatred and malicious revenge.
He will destroy anything positive, promote everything related to hate, and certainly fuel it.
Pythius Tormentor of Fraudsters :
If you have ever committed fraud, then you could very well have Pythius on your case. He is considered one of the vilest demons from hell. Even though he is a commander and one of the princes of hell, he is still a hands-on type of demon. He gains personal pleasure by torturing all the fraudsters in hell with unimaginable, unbearable techniques. He is also known to devour any sinner he comes across when hungry.
Abyzou Demons of Miscarriage and Envy :
Another horrifying entity is Abyzou, a true demon from hell. She is a female demon that specializes in miscarriages and is riddled with envy. Abyzou reflects the dark traits often associated with demonic goddesses in ancient folklore and represents one of the most twisted demonic goddesses known.
Ronove: The Soul Collector
Our next demon is after your soul. His name is Ronove, and he holds significant status in hell as a Great Earl. Ronove appears as a monstrous creature carrying a staff-like stick. Once you are at death’s door, and your soul is bound for hell, Ronove will rise to the surface to collect it. He is such an obsessive soul scavenger, he even takes animal souls too.
Lady Midday: The Field Executioner
Now we meet Lady Midday, a demon from Slavic folklore, well-known in Slavic-speaking countries. She gets her name because she appears in fields around midday while people are working. She usually takes the form of either a young lady or an old hag, but always wears white. If she appears and asks the workers a question, they must answer correctly. If they don’t, she’ll simply cut off their heads—because she can.
Merihem: Demon of Red Death and Madness
Next is a terrifying figure known as The Red Death. His name is Merihem. During the war between Heaven and the fallen angels, Merihem upset the Grim Reaper, who ended his existence in Heaven. Cursed and driven mad, Merihem became one of the princes of hell. He is now a demon deeply involved in violence, and in some cases, suicides—but his essence is mostly violence.
Belial: The Master of Lies and Rebellion
Then, there is Belial, a colossal name in the demon world. So powerful that he was said to stand beside Lucifer at one time, Belial commands 80 legions of demons. He is the demon of lies, often referred to as the lord of all evils. His evil was so influential that there are reports suggesting Belial may be Lucifer’s father, and that it was he who tempted Lucifer to start the rebellion.
